Finance in Motion has recently been awarded a new fund management mandate for a MSME investment fund in the MENA region. We are therefore looking to strengthen our investment team with an associate that brings a strong background in equity investments or related advisory work, whereby financial institution expertise and regional experience would be an advantage.

The candidate will be based at our head office in Frankfurt am Main, work in a young, international team whose working language is English, and assume the following duties and responsibilities:

• Leading the financial analysis of new potential investments and being a key member of the overall due diligence team;
• Preparing or analysing detailed financial models for the creation and implementation of strong development and value creation strategies;
• Building and managing relationships with key executives at new and existing partner institutions, travelling is therefore an integral part of the position;
• Supporting the structuring, negotiation and legal documentation of investments (debt and equity);

Qualifications / Skills

• University degree, preferably in economics, finance or business administration;
• A minimum of three years of experience in Investment Banking, Transaction Management, Leverage or Project Finance, Private Equity, Corporate Development or Management Consultancy;
• Expertise in financial and strategic analysis of companies, preferably financial institutions in emerging markets;
• Strong written and spoken English skills, proficiency in Arabic and/or French being an added advantage;

• Participate in due diligence visits of new or existing financial institutions together with the in-country investment team
• Review and sign off investment proposals for financial institutions
• Contribute to the overall development of credit risk management policies and procedures
• Continuous observation and analysis of the development of regional financial markets to identify possible risk factors negatively impacting either new investments or the repayment of current investments
• Use other information sources as part of an early-warning system for financial institutions to identify possible risks to the investments
• Undertake best efforts to protect and recover investments at risk

Qualifications / Skills

We are looking for a Project Manager with a strong background in consulting/advisory services for financial institutions. The candidate will be based at our head office in Frankfurt, Germany, with short-term travel to the MENA Region, and will assume the following duties and responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and structure capacity building and training projects for financial institutions (banks and microfinance institutions), primarily related to the SME lending
• Initiate and facilitate financial sector support measures
• Oversee selection and hiring of external service providers/consultants
• Administer project implementation and coordination
