The Norwegian Microfinance Initiative (NMI) is a public-private partnership initiative which invests in microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing countries. NMI makes investments through two investment funds.
In addition, professional assistance and technical support is provided through the NMI Professional Assistance (PA) Facility. To become viable and sustainable institutions, NMI portfolio companies receive capacity building support including training and skills development in various areas, ranging from business and strategic planning to product development, risk management and social performance management training and capacity building.
