Dr. Klaus Maurer Chairman of the Supervisory Board In his function as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Klaus Maurer oversees the strategic development of Finance in Motion. In addition to his function as Director, he oversees the Technical Assistance Management, Research & Development activities of the company. Klaus Maurer has 25 years of work experience in financial systems development in developing and transition countries, with particular focus on rural and microfinance. He has been leading the development and establishment of the SANAD Fund for MSME. Previously, he has been instrumental in building the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) as a flagship fund in micro and small enterprise finance, initially as a senior advisor and later as Chief Investment Officer. Most of his professional career he worked as an independent consultant and trainer in 35 countries, primarily in Asia and Eastern Europe for multilateral and bilateral development organizations such as ADB, IFAD, World Bank, CGAP, KfW, GTZ, SDC, Sida and others. He was a project manager at KfW Development Bank and also served as microfinance advisor to the Central Bank of Indonesia. Klaus Maurer holds a doctorate in Financial Economics from the Free University Berlin and a Master of Economics from the University of Regensburg. Dr. Wolfgang Leoni Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dr. Wolfgang Leoni holds the position of Deputy Chairman and in Finance in Motion’s Supervisory Board. Since December 2009 he is Member of the Board at Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. Verwaltungs AG, and, as Chief Investment Officer, responsible for investments for private and institutional clients.
Wolfgang Leoni studied at the University of Konstanz economics. He was a professor assistant at the universities of Siegen and Gießen. After obtaining his PhD he established the macroeconomic and quantitative research department at Bankhaus B. Metzler. In 1996, he joined the executive management of Deka Investment GmbH as Chief Investment Officer where he was responsible for all investment processes and for product development.

Dr. Christian Cornett Member of the Supervisory Board Dr. Christian Cornett is a lawyer and partner with SJ Berwin, an international law firm. Prior to joining SJ Berwin in 1998, he worked for a major German bank Christian Cornett specializes in the structuring of corporate finance transactions, in particular mergers & acquisitions, equity financing and restructuring where he advises on specific corporate law matters, often in the context of capital market transactions. He also frequently advises managing directors and board members, in particular management boards and supervisory boards of stock corporations and financial institutions.

A graduate in engineering chemistry from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, Michael Phillips also holds an MBA from INSEAD, where he graduated with distinction. Upon graduating from University, he worked at Ciba Geigy Canada Ltd. as a manager in the plastics additives division. Sylvia Wisniwski Managing Director – Executive Management Sylvia is Managing Director of Finance in Motion since April 2010 with about 20 years of experience in development finance in more than 25 countries. Sylvia has about 20 years of experience in development finance in more than 25 countries world-wide. After a successful consulting career at the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), where she managed various development finance projects in East Africa and Asia, she headed up the International Advisory Services of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management from 2001 to 2008, with overall responsibility for strategy and operations. Sylvia conceptualized and executed the set-up of a specialized alternative asset management company, ConCap Connective Capital, as a spin-off of Frankfurt School. From January to July 2009, she served as Chief Executive Officer of ConCap Connective Capital. Sylvia holds an M.A. in Political Science and Sociology and an MBA from the University of Tübingen, Germany, as well as an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Miami (USA). » read more

Elvira Lefting Managing Director – Executive Management Elvira is Managing Director of Finance in Motion with 15 years experience in development finance and investment management. Elvira has responsibility for the investment management of the funds the company is advising, at present EFSE and the Green for Growth Fund, Southeast Europe, and oversees the operations of the regional offices of Finance in Motion. Her master in Slavic Studies brought her to Russia in the 1980s, where she experienced first-hand the extent of transformation challenges ahead for the economies and societies of the former Soviet Union and the importance of functioning financial systems. Since that time she has devoted her professional career to financial sector development and the task of creating access to finance. Her beginnings in this area are with IPC GmbH, a leading consultancy in development finance, where she engaged for five years in Russia and Bulgaria in large-scale institution building and small business finance projects. She then moved on for four years to the EBRD in London with main responsibility for developing banking sector funding and capacity building programmes to expand small business finance in Central Asia, parts of Southeast Europe and Ukraine. In 2005 she relocated to China for one year following a call by the World Bank to develop and implement such programmes in and through the China Development Bank. After a sabbatical in 2006 she returned to Germany to work for KfW Development Bank in the financial sector team with main responsibility for Russia in the area of small business, housing and energy efficiency finance. Since late 2008 she has served for the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) responsible for the Fund's investment operations. Elvira holds an M.A. degree from Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg, Germany.

Lloyd Stevens Director - Investment Management Lloyd is a director with Finance in Motion, focusing on the Green for Growth Fund, Southeast Europe (GGF). He has 20 years experience in banking and development finance. Lloyd began his career with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, specializing in Non-Bank Financial Institutions. In 2001, Lloyd moved into the field of development finance, developing an expertise in the transformation of microfinance institutions into regulated entities. This work brought him to Mongolia, Haiti, Russia, Zimbabwe, and ultimately Uganda, where he spent two years working first as the Transformation Manager of Uganda Finance Trust, and then as the Transformation and Consolidation project manager for DFID’s Financial Sector Deepening Project. Lloyd then moved on to Deutsche Bank’s Social Investments team in New York, working in the management of the team’s microfinance investment funds. Most recently, he was the team leader for the pre-closing management phase of the Regional MSME Investment Fund for Sub-Saharan Africa, a public-private partnership initiated by KfW, and a consultant to Minlam Asset Management. Lloyd holds a Masters in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a bachelors in economics and German literature from Vanderbilt University.

Jens Nattermann Manager – Risk Management Jens is responsible for management methodologies, portfolio risk management and market intelligence. He has over eight years of experience in financial services. Jens started his career in the Financial Services department at Deloitte & Touche. In 2006, he joined KfW as a senior manager in the risk management department, where he was in charge of the further development of the bank's internal bank rating system and institutional counterparts in Eastern Europe. Goran has more than 10 years of experience in areas of international
business, management consulting and development finance. Since April 2008, he worked as Risk Manager responsible for markets of Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania. In October 2009, he joined Finance in Motion as the Senior Investment Officer, in charge of business development and monitoring EFSE’s portfolio in Montenegro and Kosovo. Goran is also General Manager of Finance in Motion’s representative office in Montenegro. He holds degrees in Economics from University of Montenegro and a Master of Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology, USA.
