Our Culture

We believe in the positive impact that responsible investments can have on the quality of life of our target group, and we believe that we can be successful in realizing our vision only if we maintain the highest standards of professionalism and accountability in our work. Inclusion, participation, and flexible structures are encouraged, which stimulate innovation and good ideas, while outstanding performance is rewarded.

Our team members draw on expertise and experiences from development finance organizations, rating agencies, fund management companies, audit firms, and capital markets, enabling them to contribute skillsets that complement each other, while creating a workplace that encourages new ideas. We speak the languages of both development institutions and private institutional investors as well as that of our local partner institutions, carefully balancing the interests of each party.

Since we opened for business in 2009, we’ve taken pride in preserving the start-up spirit that has helped Finance in Motion grow into what it is today. This can-do attitude, combined with a strong sense of ownership, pervades our approach to work and motivates us to see opportunities where others see obstacles.

We promote market-based investments that generate multiple bottom-line returns: We firmly believe that investing in development can generate financial, social, and ecological returns at the same time.

At Finance in Motion, we believe that cultural diversity sparks creativity and fosters flexibility. Our team of more than 180 staff (and growing) is truly international, comprised of individuals who have worked in many countries around the world and represent more than 40 nationalities.
