Finance in Motion selected as Emeritus Impact Manager for the Impact Assets 50 2022

Frankfurt, 21 March 2022 – The ImpactAssets 50 (IA 50), an annual investor database that features a diversified listing of private capital fund managers delivering social and environmental impact as well as financial returns, has named Finance in Motion as an Emeritus Impact Manager. As an IA 50 Emeritus Impact Manger, Finance in Motion has achieved IA 50 recognition for at least 5 years and consistently demonstrated a commitment to generating positive impact.

This year marks the eleventh edition of the IA 50, which now includes the IA 50 Emeritus Impact Managers list and IA 50 Emerging Impact Managers list. Across all three categories, 143 impact fund managers reported assets totaling USD 116.96 billion invested in a range of asset classes and impact themes. The list features impact investors from a broad array of thematic focus areas, from sustainable aquaculture to microenterprise development, with geographies spanning the globe. Finance in Motion advises funds that have had an impact in 37 countries across five continents, with current assets under management exceeding EUR 2.7 billion. The funds address topics ranging from climate action and biodiversity conversation to promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.

25 of IA 50 fund managers are signatories to the Operating Principles for Impact Management (Operating Principles) —a framework for investors to ensure that impact considerations are purposefully integrated throughout the investment life cycle—and 18 of the 25 have been verified to date, according to a separate analysis by BlueMark, a provider of independent impact verification services for investors and companies. BlueMark verified Finance in Motion’s impact management system alignment against the Operating Principles, leading to notable ratings as found in Finance in Motion’s Disclosure Statement.

“We are very pleased to be named as an Emeritus Impact Manager on the IA 50 list, an important resource for investors interested in using their money to make a positive difference for people and planet,” said Finance in Motion Managing Director Sylvia Wisniwski. “Ongoing industry growth and diversification reflects the vital role impact investing plays in addressing the critical issues facing us today. Increased enthusiasm to foster deep impact investing with innovative investment solutions will lead to more opportunities to better cultivate this growing market. To face the challenges in this interconnected world and forge a better future for everyone, we must work together, levering all our resources and talents.”

“We’re excited about this year’s IA 50, with its dramatic expansion and diversification of impact fund managers across a spectrum of strategies, geographies and investment targets,” said Jed Emerson, ImpactAssets Senior Fellow, IA 50 Review Committee Chair and Global Lead, Impact Investing with Tiedemann Advisors. “This group of managers reflects the intentionality of our manager selection process to provide investors with a resource that shines a light on the breadth and diversity of impact fund managers. These managers bring unique and informed perspectives to the challenges impact investing is addressing.”
