Finance in Motion:

Global Leader in Blended Finance

Frankfurt am Main, 9 October 2026 – Finance in Motion has been recognised as the leading blended finance fund manager by number of active funds under management in Convergence’s State of Blended Finance 2026 report. The report also highlights Finance in Motion’s significant cumulative blended fund size and features the firm’s blended finance models as examples of market-leading practice.

“This recognition reflects the strength of the partnerships, investment platforms, and innovative structures we have built over many years,” said Sylvia Wisniwski, CEO of Finance in Motion.

Convergence, the global network for blended finance, publishes the report annually based on the world’s largest database of blended finance transactions. Blended finance uses public sector capital to absorb risks that the market cannot yet price effectively, allowing institutional investors to take risk they can understand and price accordingly, while earning the commercial returns they are looking for. According to Convergence, the market proved resilient in 2025 despite a challenging global environment and significant reductions in official development assistance.

“At a time when development resources are under increasing pressure, blended finance has an increasingly important role to play in mobilising institutional and private capital at scale,” said Wisniwski. “That is why we create investment solutions that address market barriers while delivering measurable economic, social, and environmental impact.”

Convergence also highlights the growing importance of country-led investment platforms, including Brazil’s Eco Invest initiative, which is driving blended finance activity across Latin America. The report notes that Brazil emerged as the leading blended finance market in 2025.

“Our new office in Rio de Janeiro and our newly granted asset manager licence are our direct response to this development,” said Wisniwski.

According to the report, scalable, standardised investment structures capable of addressing key investment risks while mobilising greater volumes of institutional capital will be critical to the future of blended finance.

“This is exactly where our expertise lies. For 20 years, Finance in Motion has been designing and managing precisely these kinds of structures, and this is how we aim to help shape the next generation of blended finance in emerging markets,” added Wisniwski.
